Sonet XVIII

An original artwork, 16″x20″ piece available on request.

Shakespeare is a must. And who has not heard this sonnet – Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? When I contemplate a warm summer’s day my thoughts turn to strawberries and cream – so the initial S holds a fruiting strawberry plant on a cream background. Two mirrored floral tracery panels (one with red flowers in a blue vase, the other has blue flowers in a red vase) border the sonnet written in a sharpened italic mirroring the Elizabethan style script.
