Tolkien is a great source of material to interpret. Riddles in the Dark is the chapter where Bilbo finds and fortunately manages to keep The Ring when he stumbles across the answer to Gollum’s riddle and wins his route out of the cave. The insular miniscule letter style reflects an age and the runes reflect a place and the illuminated panel links the two. The answer that Bilbo repeated is discretely  incorporated into the design of the piece.
