This poem was written by a well known Welsh poet in tribute to a successful Welsh singer. A blue ribbon flows through the lines representing the river running through the Welsh countryside as well as the prize won (the Blue Ribbon) at many a Welsh Eisteddfod. Gwyn himself is depicted in traditional Celtic art form together with other cultural references connected to welsh literature, music and performance.
